Internal Affairs Policy
The members of the Hillside Police Department are committed to providing law enforcement services that are fair, effective, and impartially applied. It is in the best interest of everyone that a complaint about the performance of an individual employee or the agency in general be resolved fairly and promptly. The Hillside Police Department has formal procedures for investigating these complaints. These procedures ensure fairness while also protecting the rights of both citizens and employees..
In order to facilitate the filing of a complaint against a Hillside Police Department officer, we have made our Internal Affairs Complaint Reporting form available for download. (file attached at the bottom of this page)
This complaint form may be filled out anonymously or with your name. Regardless of whether you choose to identify yourself we will investigate your complaint fully and impartially. However, we can investigate best when we have all available information and the ability to contact you for additional information.
