Internal Affairs Policy

It is the policy of the Hillside Police Department to accept and investigate all complaints of alleged officer misconduct or wrongdoing from any citizen or agency employee. Following a thorough and impartial investigation the case will be given a final disposition. If discipline is appropriate, it shall be administered according to the degree of misconduct.

In order to facilitate the filing of a complaint against a Hillside Police Department officer, we have made our Internal Affairs Complaint Report form available for download.

This complaint form may be filled out anonymously or with your name. Regardless of whether you choose to identify yourself we will investigate your complaint fully and impartially. However, we can investigate best when we have all available information and the ability to contact you for additional information.
